Mount Holly Neighborhood Watch
Neighborhood Watch is
a crime prevention program designed for Mount Holly’s residential
community. The program is operated by
our residents and is sponsored by the Mount Holly Township Police Department. The purpose of the Neighborhood Watch Program
is to organize groups of neighbors and teach them the necessary steps to reduce
the opportunity for crime. Essentially,
Neighborhood Watch is another set of “eyes and ears” for the police department.
Neighborhood Watch is not any of the following:
-
A vigilante force working outside the normal procedures of
the Mount Holly Township Police Department.
-
A 100% guarantee that crime will not occur.
-
A program designed for participants to undertake personal
risks to deter crime.
The Mount Holly Neighborhood Watch was formed in 1981, under
the direction of Chief Eugene Stafford and Sheriff’s Officer Larry Gladfelter.
Currently the Mount Holly Neighborhood Watch meets on the 3rd
Monday of every month at the Samuel Miller Retirement Center, 256 Clifton Ave.,
Mount Holly NJ. If you are interested in
becoming a member or request additional information, please email Larry
Gladfelter at mhlag@comcast.net.
